Dear Pen Bay Christian School Family,
Praise God for His Providence! Our school continues to increase its enrollment. At the beginning of this school year, I made the decision to claim Jeremiah 29:11 for our school. This verse has become increasingly precious to me as I have gotten older! I am so thankful for the wonderful provision that our Heavenly Father makes for each of His children. He always sends what we need at just the right time. He is never closed or too busy. His answers are always perfect in His time.
Pen Bay Christian School is thankful for the support of our local churches. Last week two boxes of brand new Bibles arrived at our school. Our student Bibles had become quite worn and God supplied this need through “an anonymous gift from a church in the local community!” This church wants to acknowledge “God, our ultimate Provider, so the focus and Glory is His alone.”
Our parents individually or through the help and support of the PBA give to our school in so many ways. I would like to thank Melinda Ferrazza, one of our preschool parents, for producing our school’s outer hall bulletin board at the start of this school year. Again, our Lord has provided for us! Mrs. Ferrazza is also updating our school web page which answers one of my prayers!
Last year, our much loved, experienced Music and Band teacher, Mrs. Zettie Matthews faced very serious health challenges. We are happy to learn of her recovery. Thankfully, in her absence, the Lord provided Mrs. Flaherty as our Music substitute for most of the school year. Several of our students enjoyed beginning guitar lessons with her. We wish Mrs. Flaherty well and blessings in her new job. Again, our God has provided; it is with pleasure that I introduce, Mrs. Hannah Adolphsen. Mrs. Adolphsen holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Elementary Education. She holds Certification in Pennsylvania and Maine as well as with ACSI. We are delighted that she brings several years of classroom experience with her as our new music teacher. She will be offering our students instruction in Music Theory, Chorus, and Bells. Stay tuned as we hope to once again offer guitar lessons to our students as the details are worked out!
Last week, it was my pleasure to visit each classroom to discuss what “fair” meant to each student. This was an interesting time as students and faculty gave their ideas as to the meaning of this concept. Only God can be truly fair. This world is NOT a fair place although the secular world continues to think we can legislate it, or produce it with the next new seminar or world peace treaty. Our students did feel that not cheating and sharing with equal portions in mind might be a good start. This week, we have been discussing honesty.
In Him and for Him,
