Dear Pen Bay Christian School Family,
I wish that all who are reading this newsletter could have witnessed our Chapel Presentation on Friday! Mrs. Pagano’s class of second and third graders led the student portion of our service which ended in a student led “Victory Chant!” Mrs. Pagano had previously requested her students wear “camo” on Friday for chapel.” Of course this is not our normal chapel dress and so it peaked my curiosity. She then explained what her class would be doing. I could readily agree that the “camo” costume was fitting. I suggested they carry their Bibles as God’s Word is the sword of the Spirit! The students marched in, Bibles in hand, down the center aisle. Third grader, Zachary led the boys in the initial chant, which was echoed by the girls. Arriving at the front of the Sanctuary, they finished their chant holding their Bibles high over their heads. How important it is to equip tomorrow’s Christian leaders with this teaching found in Ephesians 6:10-11 referred to as The Whole Armor of God. Of course we have our brand new “Swords” because our God knew that we were in need of classroom Bibles and provided them. On a daily basis, we feel God’s presence here in our school and often the need before we ask.
The following also is a case in point. Each Friday in chapel, I have been discussing our Pen Bay Knights Honor Code. I received a free download of a color chart of The Armor of God from a Christian Publishing Co. We have just looked at “fair” and “honest.” Both are actually acknowledged under The Breastplate of Righteousness on this chart! This week, we will look at kindness or gentleness, a Fruit of the Spirit, as found in the book of Galatians 5:22. As we continue implementing this code at our school, we will undermine each point with the Christian’s Armor of God!
In Him and for Him,
