Dear Pen Bay Christian School Family,
We are very thankful for the continuing blessings that our awesome God is heaping on our school. As a need arises, our Lord provides! This week we learned that our wonderful preschool has tied for First Place in the 2015 Best of the Best, preschool category. Mrs. Robertson, our Preschool Teacher, and her staff, Mrs. Lappin and Mrs. Shaw well deserve this accolade! This honor gave us the opportunity to share our school at the 2015 Gala showcasing “The Best of the Best” at the Samoset on Wednesday night.
Did you know that October 31 is a special day for Christians? It has nothing to do with candy and costumes. Our chapel speaker last week, Colin McGie, Pastor of the Appleton Baptist Church, taught our students that on this date in 1517, Martin Luther protested the “selling” or “earning” of salvation which was commonly practiced before this date. Luther declared that the “just shall live by faith, and that faith was in the saving blood of the Son of God, Jesus Christ! So yes, Pen Bay Christian School did celebrate October 31! We celebrated faith in Christ alone! Also on Friday, Mrs. Chamberlainʼs students used sign language to share, “Take My Life and Let It Be” as their chapel presentation. As we continue to look at how we show respect to God and others it is comforting to know that, “Heʼs Still Working On Me!”
Our school nurse, Cecily Havener, began her 2015 health screenings this week. She will also be looking at our health records including immunizations. In addition to her work as a nurse at Pen Bay Medical Center, Mrs. Havener is also the wife of Friendship lobsterman, Andy Havener and the mother of three wonderful children.
The annual auction is drawing near and the items up for bid continue to grow! Also the Flagship Movie Pass booklets are in and available to purchase now in our school office. Exciting things are happening at Pen Bay Christian School!
In Him and for Him,
